Director

The Health Services unit of Bayero university has 11 sub units headed by a Director, and about 200 support Staff. The Units include: Admin unit, medical unit, mental health clinic, nursing unit, pharmacy unit, dental unit, laboratory unit, environmental health unit, radiology unit, medical records, eye clinic, and the NHIS unit.

Health Service Divisions

The Health Services is headed by a Director, and about 200 support Staff.

Medical Unit

General Out-Patient Consultations, In-Patient Care, Speciality Internal Medicine Clinic, Speciality Surgical Clinic, Speciality Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinic Speciality Paediatrics Clinic and Surgical Care.
Mental Health Clinic

Provide both Out-Patient and In-Patient Care of Psychiatric Conditions, Mental Health Counseling and Psychological Support.
Nursing Unit

Render Nursing Care to: University Staff, Staff Wives, Staff Children below 18yrs, Undergraduate Students, Postgraduate Students, Community Services, Routine Medical Check-up.
Pharmacy Unit

Processing of filing of prescriptions comprising: - Outpatient dispensing, In-patient dispensing, Patient counseling, and Pharmaceutical care, Quality Control and Quality assurance;
Dental Unit

Maintenance of general oral health care; Treat University Community, Staff, Staff wives, Staff children below 18 years, Undergraduate students, Postgraduate students, Minor oral surgeries, Extraction.
Laboratory Unit

Provide Diagnostic Services to University Community; Staff, Staff Dependents, Staff Children Below 18 years, Undergraduate Students, Postgraduate Students, Provision of General Laboratory Investigations.
Environmental Health Unit

Waste Management: Solid wastes, Liquid wastes, Medical wastes, Management of Incinerators, Inspection of Premises, Students’ Residential Inspection, Market Inspection, Faculty/Department/Library/Theatre Inspection and Pest and Vector Control.
Radiology Unit

Providing all Radiological services to the University Community: X-ray Services, Ultrasound Examination; Staff, Staff Wives, Staff Children below 18 years, Undergraduate Students and Postgraduate Students.
Eye Clinic Unit

Maintenance of General Sight of the Patients, Prescription of Drugs for Patient, Examination of Eyes followed with Lens Strength Prescription, Attend to Eye problem Emergencies, Surgeries and Cataracts Extraction.
NHIS Unit

Registration of NHIS Client, Obtaining Referral Code and Liason with HMOs.
